Guest Artists Visit Bones Southwest

On Monday, September 10, 2007, Bones Southwest was honored by visits from Ralph Sauer and John Lofton.  Ralph Sauer is the recently retired principal trombonist of the Los Angeles Philharmonic.  John Lofton is the bass trombonist of the Phoenix Symphony.  Mr. Sauer played solo material for us and gave us some practical tips on playing, and Mr. Lofton sat in during the rehearsal.  Ralph Sauer joined us in playing toward the end of the rehearsal.

The presence of these two wonderful artists made it a very special night for us.  What a fun night!

We were sounding pretty good at this point in the rehearsal.  Everyone was all warmed up, and Ralph Sauer was nice enough to join in!

John Lofton sat in with our regular bass tromboninsts.  This is one serious bass trombone section, folks.  What a sound!
